A Small Country Church With a BIG Heart
Welcome to Christ Chapel, Polo, MO. We have sought to be a light for Christ in this community since 1982.
May 9, 1982 - We first met as the Polo Wesley Church in a store front in the Noel Fields building on Main Street in Polo, Missouri. A building fund was established on September 1, 1982.
July 24, 1984 -A very meaningful day in our history as this was the day we voted to accept the donation of Bob & Doris Walker for a lot to build a new church building.
September 16, 1984 -Voted to change the name to Christ Chapel.
1984-86 -Moved into our new building on Easter Sunday
1997-98-Another exciting addition to Christ Chapel was a beautiful sanctuary. We worship each Sunday with the realization of how blessed we are to have this facility. We have appreciated many inspired messages, special Christian music programs, and missionaries.
2010-11- Sunday school building addition and baptismal were added.
It must be noted that many wonderful Christians have been a part of working diligently to provide love, labor and support through the many phases of our growth and each one has made an important contribution.
Christ Chapel has been active in supporting many mission endeavors: individual missionaries and their ministry, Show-Me Children's Home and Shiloh Children's Home. Other community sponsored programs include the local food pantry and Caldwell County Nutrition Center. Our members are active in many community events and organizations providing their help and support. We continually pray for guidance that we might reach others for Christ in our community.
Pastors who have served Include: Rev. David Miller, Rev. Stephen Dreiling, Rev. Dwayne Davis, Rev. Mitchell Albertson, Rev. Kirk Baker, Rev. Darren Bibbs, Dr. Steve Andrews, Rev. Duane Tindall, Rev. Joe Nichols, and our current pastor Michael G. Tucker.
For a number of years we had Midwest Baptist Theological Seminary students serve as our pastor. Our congregation provided a training opportunity for these students and we were blessed by their presence.
